LAKE SHASTA CAVERNS - #1

The Lake Shasta Caverns are a network of caves located near the McCloud arm of Shasta Lake in California.

This photograph was taken while crossing the lake on the Caverns Excursion ferry. The ferry landing dock is in the inlet formed by the large sand bar seen on the right. From there, visitors are transported on small buses up to the entrance of the caves.

All of the photographs in this Exhibit were taken on July 22, 2018, while camping at Lake Siskiyou Camp Resort, located near Mount Shasta, at the southern end of the Cascade Range in Siskiyou County, California.

LAKE SHASTA CAVERNS - #2

The Cavern tour begins at this entrance. On the day we took the tour it was over 100 degrees (F) outside but instantly dropped to about 68 degrees inside the caves.

Rock formations in the caves... Lighting inside the caves, in many locations, is bright enough that a flash was not necessary.
