Engine Room
This is the engine room of the SS Jeremiah O'Brien, a Liberty Ship from the second world war. The ship is currently docked in San Francisco and there are yearly public tours available (highly recommended).
The engine room of the SS Jeremiah O'Brien was used to depict the engine room of the Titanic in the 1997 film starring Leonardo DiCaprio and Kate Winslet.
Multi-Colored Tractor
This old tractor looks like it was "home built". The steering wheel looks like it once belonged to a water shut-off valve. The motor cowling looks like a giant metal mailbox. Maybe it was a prototype - not sure. It must have been very uncomfortable to ride on all day. It was painted bright yellow, red, green, and blue. Fascinating...
Old Green Tractor
This is another old tractor, found at the same spot as the one above. This one, however, is a commercially manufactured tractor.
Yellow Earth Mover
This old earth mover was photographed at the High Desert Museum outside of Bend, Oregon. It was grouped with a bunch of machinery associated with the Lazinka Saw Mill that began operating on the spot in the early 1900s. The saw mill is still operational and is part of the Miller Family Ranch exhibit. The next three photos are from the same Saw Mill.
Antique Saw Mill
This is part of the machinery that fed the logs into the saw at the Lazinka Saw Mill located at the High Desert Museum outside of Bend, Oregon.
Antique Log Mover
This large wheel, taller than me, is part of a machine that moved logs up to the Lazinka Saw Mill. You can see a portion of a second wheel on the other side of the logs. The next photo is a close up of that second wheel, from the other side.
